Sara & James Nelson
Sunday, July 13th, 2025
Harvey Hall was proud to host Sara & James Nelson as a fundraiser for their upcoming endeavours.
Sara and James Nelson are siblings from Lower Coverdale NB that are bringing the traditional
toe tapping Maritime Fiddle music to audiences around the Maritimes, and beyond. Finding a love for fiddle music early on, these first generation musical siblings have been finding people to
entertain for as long as they can remember. Starting out at church functions, local jam nights, or wandering from room to room at the hospital and nursing homes, these two have always enjoyed playing a tune for someone.
They are a part of the Sussex Avenue Fiddlers under the direction of Ivan and Vivian Hicks who perform at fundraisers and community events around the Maritimes. Also they have been part
of the Plucky Pizzacatos, a student group under the direction of Samantha Robichaud. In 2021, they both joined the cast of the Lumber Jills under the direction of Stacey Read, and have performed at festivals in PEI and NB, including the Festival of Small Halls, Cavendish Beach Music Festival and Levee on the Lake. In the fall of 2023 & 2024 they were invited to perform for a week at Dollywood in Tennessee and in the summer of 2024 they travelled to Scotland to play the HebCelt Festival with the Lumber Jills.

Before the Mast
Saturday, July 12th, 2025
Before The Mast is nine guys who sing the sea shanties and sea songs that working men sang aboard ships in the age of sail. They sing with gusto and energy, balanced with heartfelt ballads and carefully-arranged harmonies. Like the sailors of old, they sing a-cappella (without instruments), allowing the beautiful blend of male voices in harmony to shine through. They brought their wonderful talents, along with some interpretive dance, to the Harvey Hall!

A Fervent Pull in support of Shepody Food Bank
Saturday, July 5th, 2025
A special screening of 'A Fervent Pull' took place at Harvey Hall in support of the Shepody Food Bank.
'A Fervent Pull’ is a locally produced documentary series that introduces three extraordinary Albert County residents whose unwavering commitment to a passion has defined their lives. Featuring tidal bore surfer Melvin Perez, Hillsborough’s artistic portrait photographer Danica Sherry, and longtime Dobson Trail volunteer Rodney Steeves, the series is testament to the fascinating people who often lay somewhat hidden as members of Canada’s lesser known communities; those from sleepy villages and tucked away towns. But from these underrated places often come the most intriguing people. And the greatest stories.
‘A Fervent Pull’ is directed and produced by filmmaker Colleen Furlotte and co-produced by musician/audio engineer John Maher. Riverview cameraman Wes Perry rounds out the tiny three person crew.
